Last year, BELA Members expressed a desire to put the power of the BELA community to work for the benefit of the host community of Atlanta during the Global Ethics Summit. So this year, BELA Partnered with Hands On Atlanta, a non-profit organization that partners with other non-profits to mobilize the Atlanta community to tackle the city's most pressing needs, from food insecurity to environmental sustainability, to educational equity.
At the end of BELA Day, 250 BELA volunteers packed 1,000 STEAM Kit packs for the Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, a Hands On Atlanta partner organization. Girl Scouts of the USA’s vision for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) is to encourage Girl Scouts of all ages to engage in STEM, become scientifically literate, and have the option to explore STEM careers. The STEAM Kits BELA members prepared will help Girl Scouts learn by doing, and unlock their trademark "I've got this" attitude.
